The two large-scale low-cost housings in suburban Yangon are to be completed before the 2015 election, said the project director.
“A total of 49 eighteen-storey buildings
will be constructed under Ayeyarwun and Yadanar housing projects. This
will provide 19,000 units totally, and it will be completed by July
2015,” said Khin Maung Thein, Project Director of Ayeyarwun and Yadanar
housings.
The two housings will be set up on the
220-acre land_ Ayeyarwun on 120 acres and Yadanar on 100 acres. Tenders
have been invited to supply necessary cement and iron for the two
projects, he said.
According to the Ministry of
Construction, the electrical expenditures of the projects will be
covered with loans from Chinese EXIM Bank.
Housing demands in Yangon are on the
increase due to the rising urban population. Teachers with old service
and low salaries will be prioritized in selling apartments at the
low-cost housings projects currently under construction, the Ministry of
Construction said.
