Advertising coming to city circle trains

Four companies have won the right to advertise in Yangon’s circular trains, Myanma Railways says – but only the newer cars seem to be drawing the eyes of advertisers.

Tenders to display ads on the city’s commuter trains were announced in state-run papers in mid-October as part of government efforts to reduce losses on the service.

Thai advertising giant establishes new subsidiaries in Myanmar

A leading Thai advertising company, Chuo Senko (Thailand) Public Co Ltd, has established two new indirect subsidiaries in Myanmar since February of this year.

In an effort to expand its operations in the neighbouring country, the company has formed two subsidiaries, Red Bull Co Ltd and Chilli Advertising Co Ltd, in Yangon.

Japan-based ADK Group plans to do advertising business in Myanmar

Japan’s third largest advertising agency, ADK Group, is entering a joint venture with Myanmar's Hintha Media Corporation to launch media and advertising business in the country, according to the company’s press conference in Yangon on September 26.

Proposal for the joint venture has been submitted to the Myanmar Investment Commission, and it is expected to be able to start the business in October, said Mr. Min Banyar San, CEO of Hintha Media Corporation.

Digital media firm Vizrt sets sights on Myanmar

Norway-based Vizrt, a leading provider of content-production tools for the digital-media industry, is eyeing business expansion in Myanmar to cash in on the prospects for the broadcasting business there after the country opens more doors for foreign investment.

Yupapak Tawanna, regional manager of Vizrt Thailand, said the headquarters in Oslo had assigned its Bangkok office, which is the operating centre for the Asia-Pacific region, to conduct market surveys and study business opportunity in Myanmar, which has a population of 70 million.
