Germany-based Mercedes-Benz and Japan-based Mitsubishi Fuso will soon open their car showroom and service centres in Yangon, Aung Kyaw Moe, chairperson of their local partner IBTC Group, said on Wednesday.
IBTC joined hands with Singapore-based
Jardine Cycle & Carriage (JC&C) to launch the showroom and
service centres as Diamler AG, manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz cars and
Fuso trucks, appointed JC&C as their authorized distributor and
service provider in Myanmar.
Next month, their first service centre
will open on Kabaraye Pagoda road in Mayangone township. Mercedes-Benz
showroom and another service centre will follow but towards the end of
this year, Aung Kyaw Moe said.
He said, “With JC&C, I am proud to
introduce Mercedes-Benz to Myanmar… I believe Mercedes-Benz will be
successful in the luxury car market of Myanmar.”
Wolfgang Huppenbauer, President and
Chief Executive Officer of Daimler South East Asia Pte Ltd, said the
market entry with JC&C into Myanmar is a further step towards a
market expansion in South East Asia.
JC&C Managing Director Alex
Newbigging said Myanmar has potential to develop and entering Myanmar
market will prove their accountability in the region.
Diamler AG manufactures Mercedes-Benz,
Mercedes AMG, Smart, Freightliner, Western Star, Thomas Built Buses,
Setra, BharaBenz and Mitsubishi Fuso.
JC&C operates in Indonesia,
Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam, and focuses on distribution and
