Gauck's visit to Yangon is at the invitation of his Myanmar counterpart U Thein Sein and is expected to arrive in the country on Feb 11, Xinhua news agency reported.
During his visit, Gauck will inaugurate the German Goethe Institute in Myanmar and give a speech at the University of Yangon.
German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelles's visit to Myanmar in 2012 has boosted economic and cultural cooperation between both countries.
Last year, the German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) signed an agreement with the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) to open its representative office in Yangon.
