The Thai-Myanmar Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) will convene in Bangkok on November 21, to beef up on the development plan for the Dawei Special Economic Zone, said a Thai minister.
Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Niwatthumrong Boonsongpaisan said that at the meeting, both sides will be briefed on the progress of the development project, particularly on the establishment of special purpose vehicles for the investment.
They will also discuss on details of early industrial development by Italian-Thai Development, the Thai company which holds the development concession.
Niwatthumrong said that prior to the JCC meeting, there will be a senior official meeting in Myanmar during November 7-8. Joining the event will be representatives from the National Economic and Social Development Board as well as the ministries of Interior, Energy and Finance.
