Mobile teams have temporarily
halted their inspection process at international ports, according to
Central Committee for Control of Illegal Trade.
The committee is still reviewing the methods to inspect and will announce the exact date, an official from the committee said.
“We are currently assessing the in and out of the ports,” he said.
Mobile teams aimed to inspect goods that is harmful to consumers and to have tax for the government.
Mobile teams has targeted from August 12
to 31 for education period in ports along Yangon harbour region and
were taken action starting from September 11 in Yuzana, Tharkata,
Kyanmaryay, Wartan, Chaung Wa, Bargayar and Bayintnaung ports.
Starting from December, the committee
was planned to inspect illegal trade at Yangon International Airport in
addition to international ports, sources say.
