Union Minister of Mines, His Excellency Dr. Myint Aung, opened the 2nd Myanmar Mining
Summit with the announcement of ongoing amendments to the mining law to
make it more foreign investment-friendly to encourage exploration of
the country’s untapped mineral resources.
As Myanmar’s mining industry is expected to boom with the influx of foreign investors bringing in technology and resources for exploration, the 2nd Myanmar Mining Summit was an opportune platform for keen investors to convene for timely updates and understanding of the mining and investment climate.
U Tin Tun of Georesources said that the event helped him attain “knowledge and information about mineral resources and mining industry”, and Mr. Kartikeya Verma of GreenRock commented that the updates will allow his company to “take goals to the next level in Myanmar”.
Leading private silver, lead and zinc mining company, China Polymetallic Mining Limited, also participated as the Premium Sponsor of the summit.
