Myanmar Airways International (MAI) will soon schedule regular flights to Japan, according to a company spokesperson.
MAI presently offers chartered flights to Japan. Depending on the market situation, direct regular flights there could begin as early as December, says the company’s marketing manager Aye Maya Thar.
Since April 27, MAI has offered chartered flights to Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka and Okinawa.
Representatives from MAI and Japan’s Ibaraki Airport authorities have signed an agreement to land MAI’s regular flights at the airport, located 85 kilometres from Tokyo.
This month, MAI is planning to increase its monthly chartered flights to Japan from one to five flights.
