Construction of a floating hotel being built on the Ayeyarwaddy River has been postponed due to high water during this years monsoon season, according to project managers.
The floating hotel is still expected to
be complete before the South East Asian (SEA) Games to be hosted in
Myanmar this December. The hotel will be 70 rooms including 40 double
bed rooms, four family rooms and two suite rooms to accommodate
increasing number of expected tourists.
“We are planning to complete the project
before the SEA Games start. At present, we have postponed the
construction of outside project as the river level is getting higher and
we have difficulty for storing the construction materials and for the
place for the workers to stay,” said manager Lay Myint.
