Max Myanmar Group of Companies
will transform Pyay Tower into a five-star hotel and will be opened in
the end of this year, according to the announcement of the group.
The tower is located near Myanmar Radio
and Television 4 (MRTV-4) compound. IIDA International Design PTE Ltd.
from Singapore will be responsible for the design of the hotel.
Engineers from Max Myanmar are now starting constructing.
The hotel will be named as Novotel Hotel
(Yangon). It will have two towers and 366 rooms and contain
presidential suite, penthouse, ballroom, meeting room, conference room,
coffee bar, cocktail bar, French style restaurant, swimming pool,
fitness and spa and tennis court.
ACCOR Hospitality from France will manage to run the hotel. Over 600 job opportunities will create after the hotel is finished.
Myanmar has 30 foreign owned hotels
currently in running conditions and has over 5,000 rooms. Five foreign
owned hotels are still under constructing and 1,145 more rooms will be
emerged. 414 rooms hotel will construct in this year. After the hotel
projects are finished, Myanmar has over 6,700 hotel rooms with foreign
investment.
The new hotel projects are currently
invested by Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, UK and
Vietnam. Tourist’s numbers from China, Japan, Malaysia, Republic of
Korea and Thailand are the highest, according to the statistics of
Ministry of Hotel and Tourism.
Max Myanmar Group is founded in 1993 and
they are investing in trading, construction, hotels, production,
services sectors, banking, mining, petroleum and oil sectors and cement
factories.
