Capacity Building Center jointly
sponsored by Myanmar and Japan will be open in May 2013 to help improve
Myanmar’s human resource capacity, said Win Aung, chairman for the
Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry
(UMFCCI).
Keidanren, the Japan's largest business
lobby group made a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) signing ceremony
for economic cooperation with UMFCCI at its office on February 7.
"Keidanren has promised us to give help
in opening the center. Today's MoU will also include this matter," Win
Aung added on that day before the event.
The delegation led by Hiromasa Yonekura,
the business federation’s chairman began their visit on Monday by
meeting with government officials and executives of domestic firms to
seek business opportunities in the country.
The meeting this time included the biggest number of Japanese companies.
Mr.Yonekura also said at the signing
ceremony that Japan has been currently providing assistance for Myanmar
to build infrastructure with study projects for upgrading Yangon Port's
Inland Water Transport, Yangon City's Environmental Development,
building infrastructure for Thilawa Special Economic Zone and Smart
Community.
He also added that Japanese companies will invest in development projects for Thilawa Special Economic Zone.
Myanmar should give priority to develop
its human resources and the country has some limitations to accept
