Nissan Motor, Japan's
second-largest auto maker planned to build an assembly plant in Myanmar,
according to its Myanmar partner E Garage Auto Service and Spare Parts.
"Nissan has opened its parts and service center last week by teaming up with us.
The service center is located in Kamayut
Township, Yangon and providing services such as computerized auto
repair, the country manager Aung Moe Than of E Garage Service and Spare
Parts said.
E Garage is a joint venture between a private company of Myanmar and Malaysian based Tan Chong Group.
Tan Chong holds 90 percent of stakes in the E Garage and established the business in Myanmar on December 2011.
The auto distributor and manufacturer,
Tan Chong is mainly working with Nissan Motor for assembling autos in
Cambodia, Laos Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
Many Japanese auto makers are in talk with Myanmar Investment Commission.
