Denmark and India eye Myanmar businesses

Delegations of Denmark and India visited Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) in Nay Pyi Taw last month to establish beer and beverages factory and cement factory in Myanmar.

A delegation led by director Peter Schwalbe of Investment Fund for Developing Countries Department, Denmark met with departmental official from DICA.  The Denmark delegation had proposed to build a beer and beverages factories in Myanmar.


A delegation led by vice chairman Shrinath Savoor of Shree Cement Ltd., had discussion with DICA’s official to build a cement factory.

The delegations and DICA had also discussed about Myanmar Foreign Investment Law and Opportunities, DICA’s announced on its official website.

Myanmar, Dagon, Mandalay, Tiger, Double Strong, ABC Stout, Baron’s Strong Brew and Andaman Gold are current beer brands in the market and manufactured in Myanmar.

Myanmar Local carbonated soft drink companies are trying to get the deal with foreign beer companies as well.

Not only beers from western but also beers from neighboring countries are already taking the market.

The cement is currently in short supply in Myanmar and only 15 cement factories are running in the country.

The government is granting more permits for building cement factories in Myanmar.
