YCDC invites tenders for housing projects

The Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC) has called for tenders to implement joint projects in low-cost housing, civil housing, and car parks with local and foreign companies.

The projects include civil housing and car parking projects in Botahtaung Township on three acres of land on the corner of the Traders Road and Thein Phyu Road, as well as 2.5 acres of land on 45th Street.

Civil housing projects are also being planned in various townships around the city and must be established in line with the programs confirmed by YCDC. Documents for the tender can be bought at the Engineering Department (Buildings) during office hours starting from February 25.

Interested companies must pay US$ 50,000 in bonds for the civil housing and low-cost housing projects in North Okkalapa Township, North Dagon Township, and East Dagon Township while others must have US$ 100,000 bond for insurance.

Applications must be submitted before March 31 and the tenders will be held openly in front of the representatives who submitted the tenders.

Last September, YCDC invited tenders for the second central economic zone project (Mindhamma) and Mingalartaungnyunt economic building project. Local construction giants Capital Development Ltd., A1 Construction, Asia Pacific Construction, Ayeyar Hin Thar Construction, Yangon Engineering Group, New Innovation, Ga Mone Pwint, and IGE have all expressed their interest in the projects.

The tender was closed on February 2 but a YCDC official from the building department said they cannot reveal the number and name of companies that have submitted bids for the tenders.
