Local and foreign visitors enjoy Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival

Over 200,000 Local and foreign visitors are enjoying daily Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival being held in Taunggyi Township, Southern Shan State, starting from November 10, according to the Shan State Police Force.

Among the foreign travelers, the visitors from the U.S, Germany, Russia and England are taking part in the eight days event.

The police forces carried out the strictly security measures at the opening ceremony of the festival and the following day.

“During the festival, we made especially vigilant in conducting security checks at the entire Taunggyi Township area because we want to enjoy peacefully and happily to the visitors. Our police members amounted over 1000 are carrying out the security checks at the festival to prevent the crimes,” said Police Col. Win Tun, Shan State Police Force.

He also added that members of the Myanmar Police force held security drill demonstrations while 41 CCTV cameras are being installed at Ahwaiyar fire bloom sports ground to prevent bomb blasts at this year’s Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival.

The annual Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival, held in Shan State, is wildly popular with locals and foreign visitors alike.
