During the maintenance process beginning
tomorrow, only 130 million cubic feet of natural gas can be produced
for local use. The Yadanar gas project can produce 150 million cubic
feet of natural gas in running condition when not under maintenance,
according to the ministry.
Despite the reduction by 20 million
cubic feet of natural gas, some gas-propelled plants under the ministry
are also under maintenance. The ministry continues to distribute natural
gas to gas turbines in Yangon Region and in other factories that run
with natural gas, the ministry says.
On September 21, some faults in
compressor A and B in the Yadanar gas project were discovered and gas
production was suspended for maintenance at that time.
Meanwhile, the ministry intends to
complete the maintenance as soon as possible. It is planning to flow 50
million standard cubic feet per day into 24-inch gas pipelines using
high pressure mode, according to the ministry.
