From September 15, Thailand's
boutique airline, Bangkok Airways, will be offering four flights a week
between Bangkok and Mandalay.
The Airbus 319 service operates on
Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with Bangkok Airways' flight PG709
departing Bangkok at 12pm and arriving at Mandalay at 1.30pm. The return
flight PG710 takes off at 2.10pm and lands at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi
Airport at 4.35pm. Tucked away in upper Myanmar, Mandalay is considered
the country's cultural hub. The city draws the travellers with trips to
Buddhist temples, pagodas and boat rides along Irrawaddy River. The
airline is offering a round trip ticket for Bt3,790 until November 30.

The new website is orchestrated by the leaders of Thailand's medical tourism industry, among them the Holistic Medical Centre, the Life Centre and Thai Airways International. The campaign is aimed at women in the Asia-Pacific market, including Thailand, who are looking for ways to rediscover themselves. The offers cover a wide selection of wellness and beauty treatments, spa packages and hotel stays in Thailand.
Destination prizes
Thailand has picked up three prizes from
the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) 2013 Grand Awards. The
winners are Centara Hotels & Resorts, Tourism Authority of Thailand
(TAT) and Sampran Riverside. Centara, Thailand's home-grown hospitality
group, is awarded for its outstanding education and training programmes,
while TAT is recognised for its "Discover the Other You" digital
marketing campaign. Sampran Riverside, or the Rose Garden as your mum
would have called it, wins for its excellent eco-cultural programme. The
award presentation is being held next month in China.

The Adidas King of the Road will take
place at Suvarnabhumi Airport on September 8. Billed as a leading
