The Myanmar Investment Commission has given permission to a
local company to open an automobile factory with a Chinese partner, the
Directorate of Myanmar Investment and Companies Registration said last
week.
China-based Khaing Khaing Sang Da Group Ltd. will operate the new
auto plant with local partner Daw Lei Lei Khaing, the directorate said.
The plant will be located in Thardukan Industrial Zone in Yangon Region’s Shwepyitha Township.
Earlier this month Japan-based Suzuki said its local unit, Suzuki
(Myanmar) Motor Co. Ltd., would open a plant here with a local partner
to manufacture vehicles and spare parts.
