NEC, Shwe Taung provide ICT infra at Nay Pyi Taw Centre

Myanmar corporation Shwe Taung Group, together with NEC Asia Pacific have provided network and security infrastructure for the Myanmar International Convention Centre in Nay Pyi Taw, the capital of Myanmar. NEC Asia Pacific is the main ICT services provider for the convention centre. The Myanmar International Convention Centre is a newly completed 60,000 square meter convention and exhibition centre that recently held the ASEAN Summit 2014, which Myanmar hosted for the first time.

NEC Asia Pacific developed an ICT infrastructure for the convention centre, consisting of network and security infrastructure, integrated voice, data and video services, and a master clock system for the Myanmar government. NEC’s integrated security and safety system consists of access control system services using contactless smartcard technology, as well as surveillance systems consisting of intelligent video cameras. The master clock system enables time synchronisation of all devices within the centre’s ICT infrastructure.

NEC will provide maintenance and support for these critical services, including helpdesk and event support. Training for using the systems will be provided to Nay Pyi Taw City Development Council staff and the local team in charge of maintenance in both English and the local Myanmar language.
