Mazda to launch car workshop in Yangon

Japan-based Mazda motor company is planning to launch an auto workshop in Yangon this year, according to the marketing manager of Cycle & Carriage Automobile Myanmar Co Ltd.

“Mazda company’s car workshop will be open within 2014. The place will be on Ywama Kyaung Road, Insein Township, Yangon,” said Thet Su Mon.

The Cycle & Carriage Automobile Myanmar is Mazda’s sole distributor of its car spare-parts in Myanmar.

Mazda has recently expanded its promotional efforts in Myanmar such as by organizing the Mazda Family Road Show and Test Drive in Yangon.

Mazda temporary car showroom was also launched on Kabaaye Pagoda Road, Bahan Township last November. Mazda CX-5, Mazda CX-9, Mazda 6, Mazda 3 and MX 5 models are now on display at the temporary showroom.

Established in 1920, Mazda Motor Corporation is now ranked as the 15th largest auto firm in the world, with an annual sale of nearly 1.3 million vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Mazda company appointed the Singapore-based Jardine Cycle & Carriage and a local beverage giant IBTC Group as their partner to open a Mazda showroom in Yangon.
