Renovation of Mahabandoola Park to be finished in March

The renovation of Mahabandoola Park is 75 percent finished and is expected to completed by March 2014, according to Department of Garden and Playground Parks under YCDC.

The renovation works, which include installation of lights and water fountains, started on March 2012.

“All works are nearly finished and only need to repair the fence and the walk around the park. We will open an administration office to record the entry of the park. The families came to the park besides the foreigners after we make renovation. Children came to play at the playground and the park is crowded with them at weekends,” an official from the Department of Garden and Playground Parks under Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC) said.

Moreover amateur entertainers will entertain the visitors in front of the park and City Hall if convenience.

Kantaw Mingalar Park, Thakhin Mya Park, People Park, Kantharyar (Kokkine) and Nant Thar Myine Park besides Mahabandoola Park have been renovated at the same time, sources from the department say.
