Company representative Azumi said so at the Japan-Myanmar SMEs Exhibition and Business Matching event, held at the headquarters of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) on Saturday.
The company expects to invest in the auto servicing and real estate sectors in Myanmar, he said, adding that Daiichi Koutsu Sangyo Co. also operates in the tourism, medical services, transport and auto spare parts sectors.
“We’re a public-trusted company in Japan. We are preparing to open two auto servicing workshops and will work mainly in auto servicing and real estate sectors in Myanmar,” said Azumi.
He added that the company would also sell reused auto parts in the country at affordable prices.
A Japan-Myanmar Business Matching forum was held in March, resulting in a business agreement worth more than US$ 9 million (Ks 8.74 billion).
Companies from 33 foreign countries invest in Myanmar. Japan currently stands in 11th position, with US$ 247 million worth of investments in the country, according to official data from the Myanmar Investment Commission.
