US-based Deloitte Consulting which are giving consulting services in South East Asia countries is planning to make investment in Myanmar, sources say.
A representative from ICS Pte Ltd. of Deloitte Consulting came to Directorate of Investment and Companies Administration (DICA) on Thursday to discuss about rules and regulations of investment and opportunities to invest.
The Deloitte Consulting is giving consulting services in mining, oil and natural gas, energy, water resources, banking, insurance, real estates, education, technology and travel sectors at over 140 countries and has branch office in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
After Myanmar has amended and established foreign investment law in 2012, international is interested to make investment in every sectors.
On October 7, another US based insurance company Metlife Insurance has been approved to open representative office in Myanmar by DICA. Moreover US based Colgate-Palmolive that specializes in household, health care and personal products came to DICA office to discuss about possible investment in Myanmar on Wednesday.
According to foreign investment law, foreign investment amount is over US$43 billion until August 2013. In eight month time from January 1 to the end of August in this year, UK, Vietnam, Hong Kong, South Korea, China, Australia, Japan, India and Canada made over US$2 billion investment.
