Panasonic eyeing to open a branch in Yangon

Panasonic Corporation from Japan is planning to open a branch office in Yangon, said Tin Zar, Assistant Manager from Panasonic (Myanmar) said.


Panasonic is preparing for the branch office and will be opened in first week of June. It had a permission from Myanmar government to open.

“Panasonic has allowed Myanmar companies to operate business under franchise. The branch office is for Panasonic Corporation from Japan only and they have got an approval from the authorities too. The preparation for the branch office is nearly finished,” she said.

Panasonic Corporation, formerly known as Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., is a Japanese multinational electronics corporation headquartered in Kadoma, Osaka, Japan.

The company was founded in 1918 by Konosuke Matsushita as a vendor of duplex lamp sockets and has grown to become one of the largest Japanese electronics producers alongside Sony, Toshiba, Sharp Corporation, and Canon. In addition to electronics, it offers non-electronic products and services such as home renovation services. Panasonic is the world's fourth-largest television manufacturer and is among the world's 20 largest semiconductor vendors.

Panasonic will provide the best services for the customers after opening their branch in Myanmar. The office will be located in Mya Kan Thar Street, Hlaing Township, Yangon.
