Coca Cola to build more factories in Myanmar

Coca-Cola has a plan to build more factories to satisfy the growing demand in Myanmar because the two factories currently in operation are not enough, according to the company officials.

Rehan Kam, the operations director for the company said, "The two factories cannot cover the whole market of the country. We have plan to extend our production lines to Mandalay and upper Myanmar," he said.

The company has already built two factories jointly with Pinya, a local soft drink company in townships such as Hmawbi and Hlaing Tharya in the country, and began recently bottling two of its flagship brands -- Coca-Cola and Sprite which are now on the market.

Pinya Manufacturing Co. Ltd., a leading soft drink and beverage maker in Myanmar has already sold hundreds of millions of soft drink bottles, according to the beverages market reports.

Coca-Cola has dominated the worldwide soft drink industry since the 20th century. Its most brands include Diet Coke, Caffeine-Free Coca-Cola, Diet Coke Caffeine-Free, Coca-Cola Cherry, Coca-Cola Zero, Coca-Cola Vanilla, and special cokes with lemon, lime or coffee.

It officially began distributing the two brands in Myanmar starting from this July.

The giant soft-drink producer recently re-entered the country for second time in more than 60 years.
