JC & C to make joint venture with Mazda to open a car showroom in Ygn

Mazda Motor Corporation from Japan and Singapore based JC & C Company have made a joint venture and formed Cycle & Carriage Automobile Myanmar Co Ltd to open a car showroom in Yangon, according to sources.

The CEO of Mazda Motor Corporation Mr. Masamichi Kogai said that the joint venture will sell brand new cars soon but they will sell lower branded cars in Myanmar first, according to Reuter’s news agency.

The Yangon based company Cycle & Carriage Automobile Myanmar Co Ltd has called for tender in September 19 to construct a car showroom. The company said that they will arrange soon to hold a press conference about the Mazda showroom.

Mazda is founded in 1920 and based in Hiroshima, Japan. Currently Mazda is standing as 15th largest automaker by production worldwide and has produced 1.3 million of cars annually. The majority of which were produced in Japan.

The rest have been manufactured in plants worldwide including China, Thailand, United States, Mexico, Columbia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Ecuador, Taiwan, Malaysia, Russia and Vietnam.

Current selling brands are Carol, Scrum, AZ-Wagon, AZ-Offroad, Familia Van, Demio, Verisa, Axela, Premacy, Atenza, MPV, Roadster, RX-8, CX-5, CX-7, CX-9, Bongo, Biante, BT-50 and Titan.

The Jardine Cycle & Carriage Company (JC & C) is also won the right to open car showrooms and services centers from Mercedes Benz and Mitsubishi Fuso. The company is associated with IBTC group from Myanmar to work together.

JC & C is registered in Singapore and is a part of Jardine Matheson Group. The company is mainly working on Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam. The company is selling and making services for Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Honda and KIA brand cars in those countries.
