Kanbawza invests USD$2 million for sponsorship of SEA Games

Kanbawza Group of Companies has announced that it will provide USD$ 2 million to the Myanmar government to help finance the 27th Southeast Asia (SEA) Games.

The Kanbawza Group includes Myanmar's largest bank with operations in airlines, insurance and other services. The group aims to become an official sponsor of the SEA games to be hosted in Myanmar in December this year.

"In addition to the USD$1 million sponsor for the airline and banking services, the group donated another USD$1 million for the inspiration of Myanmar athletes," said Than Cho, Senior Managing Director of Kanbawza Bank.

Yesterday they signed a MoU with Dentsu & JK, an official organiser for the SEA Games. They are expected to sign a contract next week.

Kanbawza Group including Kanbawza Bank, Air Kanbawza, MAI and IKBZ has to give USD$1 million to the government to become a platinum sponsor. This allows them to advertise services using the logo and mascot of the SEA Games.

Kanbawza Bank will place ATM machines and foreign exchange centres in social zones of Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw and Ngwe Saung where events will take place. The group will also produce KBZ prepaid cards printed with SEA Games logo and provide special services on Air KBZ and MAI flights during the Games.

The managing director said their group will finalise an agreement with Densu & JK to work together as a main sponsor.
