KIA opens first-ever showroom in Yangon

Korea-based KIA Motors Company has opened its first showroom near Micasa Hotel Apartments in Yangon, on Sunday.

Super Seven Star Company (SSS) is an authorized representative for KIA since September last year.


“We will sell Saloon, SUVs and Truck brand new cars. We will provide the services according to KIA’s standard at the showroom,” Director Kyaw Thura from SSS Motors Industry Limited said.

 “Although Myanmar enjoys a little market demand of Korea’s vehicles, local people are interested in SUVs cars produced by KIA Motors Company,” Kyaw Thura added.

The SSS Company is now importing and selling KIA vehicles such as Cerato, Quoris, Optima, Picanto, Rio, Sorento, Sportage and Mohave and Soul K 2700.

The company was established since 1993, and is selling Japan used domestic electronic appliances as well as automotive and spare parts to eleven countries in Southeast Asia and Africa.

It is operating international auto manufacturing and assembly works at Dagon East Industrial Zone. The showrooms are being opened in major cities like Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Taunggyi, Lashio as well as Pyay and Meikhtila.

The KIA motors company is the second biggest auto company in Korea and it is one of the top 10 World’s auto best sellers.

The KIA Motors was founded in 1994 and headquartered in Seoul of the Republic of Korea. It is South Korea’s second-largest automobile manufacture, following the Hyundai Motor Company, with sales of over 1.6 million vehicles in last year.

The company’s revenue was close to US$ 42.45 billion last year. It is 33.99 percent owned by the Hyundai Motor Company, the fourth largest automotive Group.

The new servicing and spare parts centers of KIA auto company is located on Yadana street near Kyaikansan Pagoda in South Oakkalapa Township of Yangon east district.
