Ford to launch showroom and service center in Myanmar

Ford Motor Company will open its first showroom and service and spare parts center in Yangon this year.

Representatives from Ford and its Myanmar partner Capital Automotive Ltd, a unit of Capital Diamond Star Group, made the announcement on Tuesday at a press conference in Yangon.


David Westerman, Ford’s Asia and Pacific managing director, said that they would strive for more sales and service facilities throughout the country which has a lot of potential.

He added that “Ford is committed to an enduring presence and ongoing investment in this market. They want to help shape the future of Myanmar’s automotive market.”

Ford’s showroom and service center in Myanmar is being constructed and will be opened according to international standard.

The company will sell new cars and trucks that can be imported from automobile factories in North America and Thailand.

“We are working towards selling Ford’s cars and services in Myanmar market,’’ said Ko Ko Gyi, owner and managing director of Capital Diamond Star Group.

Sedan, trucks and SUV vehicles will be sold at the Ford showroom. Ford Motor Company, Capital Automotive Ltd and the RMA group, which is long partnership of Ford, have jointly cooperated to open Ford’s full-service showroom and service center.

Ford’s showroom and service center will open in Hlaing Township.

Ford Motor Corporation stands the eighth position globally and sold 5.5 million automobiles during 2012.

Ford Company was founded on June 16, 1903 and headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan of the United States of America.
