First Myanmar Cooperatives Business Center is due to open next month in Yangon to facilitate local and foreign visitors, enabling them to buy souvenirs conveniently from cooperatives shops, according to Htay Kyi Aung, information officer at the Center.
"In uplifting the socio-economic sector
of the country, the cooperatives sector plays an important role. A total
of 268 cooperatives are working hard for opening this central
cooperatives business center. Moreover, tourists can now buy souvenirs
from shops of international standards and they can enjoy at the
restaurant of high standard. There is also a spacious car parking for
tour buses. The center welcomes local and foreign visitors," he added.
At the central cooperatives business
center, there will be offices, cooperatives bank limited, souvenir
shops, restaurants, meeting halls, reception halls, companies' offices
and international standard car show room, it is reported.
The cooperative business center started its construction in 1993-1994 with the contributions of cooperatives, it is reported.
