Japanese agency plays middleman for Central Bank of Myanmar

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) plays a middleman to seek Japanese companies to work with the Central Bank of Myanmar, deputy director Aung Kyaw Than of the bank said.
To develop Myanmar banking system, JICA is assisting the Central Bank of Myanmar to create a cloud computing system [a system where data is stored and offered over a network].

KDDI Corp., Fujitsu Ltd., and Daiwa Securities Group are the Japanese companies to involve in this project by providing design and technical equipments.

The project will begin this year, and both sides are preparing to sign a memorandum of understanding. The system will help better banking service in Myanmar and enhance data and information security, Aung Kyaw Tun said.

Based on the system, Myanmar banks will be connected over a network for banking and financial services in the future.
