Meidensha Corp. said Monday it has signed an
agreement with Myanmar's Asia General Electric Co. to provide
technological cooperation for the design, manufacture and maintenance of
voltage inverters, with an eye to making inroads into the emerging
Southeast Asian market.
The Tokyo-based electronics equipment maker also
signed a memorandum of understanding stating it would consider investing
in the transformer maker. The tieup will help Asia General Electric
obtain Meidensha's technology for manufacturing midsize and large
transformers, it said.
