Chinese android tablet penetrates market

More Chinese-made android tablets are saturating Myanmar’s electronic market, a source said.

Single core processor tablets have been upgraded to dual core with Bluetooth system and other functions.

3G network is available to use as well.

“Soon we will have Quad Core processor tablets from China. Many tablets have been sold due to the low cost. The price of a tablet is under 100,000 kyats (US$110).  PC sales are decreasing while the sales of laptops and tablets are increasing,” said a merchant from Unique IT Centre, Yangon.

Most of these tablets are of poor quality. The designs are similar to iPad or Samsung. The devices don’t have warranties.

Software and license are also issues for Chinese tablets. However, they are in high demand among Myanmar customers due to the low cost.
